Welcome to TV Drama Watch!
Feb 17th, 2010 by Lynn DeVries

Unfortunately, after over three years, I have been let go from b5media, along with the other 50 fantastic entertainment writers. Here’s an article that tells the tale.

But I love to blog about TV dramas, so you can find me here from now on. Please bear with me as I get things set up and going, but you’ll be able to count on the same coverage as before, only better!

I welcome your input and hope you’ll post a comment to say hello. And please browse around to see all that’s here.

Now, please excuse me, I’ve got coverage to do. I hope you’ll bookmark and follow this site and visit often. Thanks so much for your support.

Again this year, TV Guide has published their findings in a study of the highest paid TV actors. And once again, Kiefer Sutherland is at the top of the list. [Source: 8/10/09 issue of TV Guide Magazine]

All of these are deserving the high honors, but what about the long-time favorites, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni of Law & Order: SVU? And nothing against Mr. Sutherland, but I think House is a much better show than 24, and feel that if anyone deserves the highest pay on TV it should be Hugh Laurie. But that’s just me. ;-)

Here’s the list of the drama frontrunners in the list:

  • Kiefer Sutherland (24) – $550,000 an episode (HIGHEST PAID DRAMA STAR)
  • Hugh Laurie (House) – $400,000 an episode
  • Mark Harmon (NCIS) – $325,000 an episode
  • Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy) – $275,000 an episode
  • Tim Roth (Lie to Me) – $250,000 an episode
  • Simon Baker (The Mentalist) – $250,000 an episode
  • Tom Welling (Smallville) – $175,000 an episode
  • Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) – $150,000 an episode
  • Blake Lively (Gossip Girl) – $50,000 an episode
Check Out New Web Series CTRL
Jul 16th, 2009 by Lynn DeVries

It’s a funny name of a series, right? But that’s because it’s about a guy with a magical keyboard. Everytime he hits the CTRL key, he gets to do the last thing over…a lot like the way a lot of us type. ;-)

Imagine the power of being able to change events with a keyboard. I love it! And I think you will too. NBC has created a series of webisodes based on the idea in the movie CTRL Z. The series stars Tony Hale, of Arrested Development and Chuck. He’s a terrific character actor and makes the series ery believable. Well, as much as can be expected, anyway.

Here’s an episode of CTRL:

You can follow the entire series on NBC’s web site, so head over there and check it out. And be sure to return here in the next day or so for my interview with the star, Tony Hale.

Your First Step to Recovery: Get a Dog!
Jun 24th, 2009 by Lynn DeVries

I found this wonderful little clip today that reminds us all of how wonderful dogs are and how much they enrich our lives. In it, Ben Stein tells why the answer to every problem is a dog. Your dog doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, and all he wants is to love you and be your best friend. No truer words have ever been spoken.

Enjoy this clip while I take some time to hug my dog, Rufus:
